Play Golf in the River

A Play of Light and Movement

Martine Goulmy

This work captures the flowing beauty of water in a dance of reflections and motion. The shimmering waves create a pattern of lines and swirls, where light and shadow interact in constant dynamic rhythm. The contrasts between bright white and deep blue-green evoke a sense of energy and movement, while the reflections add an almost abstract quality to the image. “Play Golf in the River” is an ode to the ever-changing nature of water. It not only reflects its surroundings but gives them a life of their own, where lines and shapes continuously shift and evolve. This image highlights how the ordinary can become something extraordinary when viewed from a different perspective. This work invites wonder and reminds us of the beauty of nature in its most fleeting and dynamic moments. My passion for photography began at a young age. At twelve, my parents gave me my first camera, and that gift marked the start of a lifelong journey. With that camera in hand, I discovered how to capture the world around me and tell my own stories. Since then, my camera has been my constant companion, and I have continuously refined my perspective. I am self-taught and have developed my own style by experimenting and following my curiosity.
