Metamorphosis art 2026 is at the heart of my autonomous work this year. The new year has begun, and a new artwork has taken shape in my studio. It is not yet ready to be shown, as it is still in the process of developing. This phase of emergence is essential and an integral part of my way of working.
The theme of Kunstlijn Haarlem 2026 is Metamorphosis: everything changes, nothing remains the same. It is a theme that touches on transformation, transition, and the space between what once was and what is yet to become. Not only visible change, but also the quiet, almost imperceptible movement that unfolds over time.
In my current work, I explore metamorphosis not only through imagery but also through material. Photography remains an important foundation, yet I increasingly work with mixed media. Paint, textiles, embroidery, and various fabrics become part of the image. By combining these materials, layers emerge, time slows down, and space is created for chance and intuition.
Working with fabric and embroidery introduces a different sense of time. Actions become slower and more attentive. This resonates with the theme of metamorphosis, where change is not always dramatic, but often subtle and gradual. The artwork is allowed to grow, shift, and adapt.

These exhibitions are moments when the work leaves the studio and enters into dialogue with the viewer. At the same time, I remain open to new locations and initiatives that may arise throughout the year.
For me, metamorphosis is not only about the final result, but about the process of making. About time, attention, and change. About work that slowly takes shape and gains meaning.
